Purchasing a Newsagency

The Purchasing Process

1. Make an offer to purchase the business which is subject to finance and confirmation of the trading figures for the business.

2. When the offer is accepted by the seller organise a pre-approval for finance which will be subject to the confirmation of the trading figures with a Due Diligence Report and any property valuations that may be required by your lender.

3. Following indicative approval from the lender, you need to organise a Due Diligence report on the trading figures of the newsagency from an accountant who is recognised and accredited by the lender.

4. When the report is completed, submit it to the bank for final approval.

5. When final approval is obtained and depending on the confirmed profitability, confirm your offer or revised offer to buy.

6. On the confirmation of acceptance of the offer , contracts are exchanged and the matter moves towards settlement.
